I don't know anything about Jonathan Franzen

It appears as if a lot of my Twitter feed is upset about Jonathan Franzen today, because he is putting out a new book soon. I don't know anything about Jonathan Franzen.

This Song Sucks and It Has Always Sucked

Tom Scocca · 11/07/14 02:53PM

It was terrible when it came out and it was terrible when Ronald Reagan got its lowest-degree-of-difficulty irony wrong and it stayed terrible. It is terrible as Respected Songwriter Music and it is terrible as a Catchy Pop Hit. It is like being HIT in the FOREhead BROther HIT in the FOREhead BROther over and over and over.

The Marathon

Leah Finnegan · 11/03/14 10:32AM

I think marathons are pretty fuckin stupid (lol u surprised?), but I happened to catch the élite women runners of the New York Marathon go past my block yesterday on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. Damn. It was an amazing sight. Just like, a fluorescent pack of deer with no body fat moving in silent tandem in their underwear on the coldest day of the year so far. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I loved it. And they were so much less show-offy than the men. The men sucked.

tym 2 prt

Saw this in Food Lion today. Their bakery is so hip to the tymz. Will America's yoots fall in love with this cake? What kind of pizza is in that pizza slice app? This cake asks more questions than it answers. I went to the store hungry and left despondent. :(

This Is the Most Recent Good Song About New York

Max Read · 10/29/14 10:49AM

Taylor Swift's thing is not actually any worse or more grating than "Empire State of Mind." This is the last good song anyone wrote about New York, probably the last good track that will ever be written about New York.

Bad Jeans of the Day

Sam Biddle · 10/23/14 10:23AM

Someone decided to draw lines all over a pair of jeans. These jeans are $200, and have a button fly. You can sort of see part of the guy's dick in the photo.
