I would sometimes gladly pay up to 75% for 50% of a meal.

If it's money you're worried about, I can't help you, but if you're talking portion control, just tell them to take half away (and wrap it or not) as soon as you are served your food. It will be weird, but at least your portion will be under control.

It's just about waste—I usually only eat half and then I take the second half home, but rarely eat it.
