They made somewhere between $2,000 -$5,000 for that video based on the view count. Not the worst way in the world to make that much money.

I think you're missing the point here, Cameron. These dudes intentionally go into areas with large black populations and incite confrontation. Never mind that these people were just minding their business. Never mind that young black boys are already targets. Never mind that the world already views many of these black guys as violent and angry and these videos only serve to reinforce those labels. Never mind that these two white dudes are just looking to become famous and make money off other people's humiliation. Never mind any of this, right? Because it's all just a some silly "prank" and they didn't really mean any of it. Nah.

I didn't say it was a socially responsible idea, nor did I say it was a reasonable idea. But they're making a lot of money off of being horrible people, and that's enough incentive for them to keep doing it.
But I will clarify, when I said it's not the worst way in the world to make money, I meant from their perspective, not from the larger social perspective. You're absolutely right, they're being assholes, both on a micro level and a macro level. Unfortunately, as long as people keep rewarding them for reinforcing labels and harassing others, it will probably remain the easiest way they have to earn money.
