Ebola terrorists are like the new ticking-time bomb/torture question, ridiculed by our media but totally plausible to everyone else.

Just realized that this is the Mike Goldfarb who was my camp counselor. He was a douchebag then, too.

Hold up. HOLD UP.

DO YOU HAVE STORIES?

So, this is almost twenty years ago, and I'm reticent to paint a guy with opinions from when he was 16-17, but he was a dick. I was not having a great summer at 12-13, and as a guy in charge, he kind of fed into the cabin's general dislike for me. He was a preppy Main Liner from Philly. He may not have actually been on the Main Line, but I'm sure he wanted to be.

Interesting. Do you remember anything he did specifically? Or was it more based on, say, little comments and gestures?

Also what camp was this?

It was Camp Shohola. SPecifics are really lost to time, I just remember that the counselors were real assholes to me that summer. The one specific thing I do remember is that he once told us he was going to a go-kart place near camp, when really he was going to the bars. Not that big of a deal, because I did the same thing when I was a counselor a few years later. You can't tell kids you're going drinking when you're 16.

This is fascinating. Did you ever see him again after that summer? (And any idea who else would remember anything from back then?)
