Yesterday, Gawker Media owner Nick Denton sent out a memo announcing that the company intends to move to a new office space on 18th Street. Gizmodo then talked to the architects behind the plan, which fights the dangers of a "compartmentalized workspace" by emphasizing openness and adaptability:

You could have your laptop in the lounge, you could bring it to an area we call "the conservatory," which is this light-filled room that offers a different level of inspiration. But not keeping everyone at their desk—allowing people to feel like where they're working is flexible.

This morning, Denton sent out another email:

From: Nick Denton

To: Gawker office

I've been moving around the office so much that I've mislaid my MacBook. It has a black pen smudge on the lid. If you see it, please let me know!
