“I’m in the middle of a real Kinja right now.”

The original Kinja.com (preserved by the Internet Archive on October 30, 2000):
What is Kinja?
Kinja is a word that I made up. I combined kids and ninja and came up with Kinja. So what does it mean? I invented the word so I get to decide what it means, right? The word and my website are about learning with a purpose. The purpose is to discover more about ourselves, our world and ultimately our raison d’etre.
Kinja is an adventure of self-discovery and so I will be posting images, video and words about my personal adventures, my Kinja. You can use the word like, “I’m in the middle of a real Kinja now.” Some of the pages will be on-going projects which will be updated regularly. For instance, I read Koine Greek fairly fluently so I will begin my own personal translation of the New Testament. I have done a lot of research about the historical King Arthur and I will start an on-going novel with chapters coming in serial form. In between there will be adventures like taking the Miata project car to the race track to attend a high-performance driving school. Another on-going project will be the restoration (and hot-rodding) of a 1950 Studebaker Champion.
I will be recording music and encoding it in MP3 format for download, as well as creating some lessons on how to play guitar and bass. My dad has promised us some more stories like Benny the Blue Dragon (and updating Benny with full color drawings). I will continue to investigate new technology and means of delivering media to you, the interested surfer. I am also going to have a directory of interesting websites that may help you in your own personal Kinja.
For now, you need to have the Macromedia Shockwave/Flash plug-in installed, as well as the Quicktime plug-in from Apple. As we add more content, you will probably need the Real Video player and an MP3 player. Every week there will be new content, the home page will list all the latest items regardless of age level or category. So check out the site, there’s something here for everyone.
