I loved this Awl post about the Spire Lofts in Williamsburg.

I mean of course all these shitty new apartments are unlivable for humans; they're living spaces for capital, not people.

The coolest thing about the 21st century is living in a time where even our physical space is structured in a large part by a huge alien force. It's pushing the metaphor way too far but these apartments are like Amazon Wikipedia books and spambots; fucked up artifacts of human-created systems that have removed themselves from human control or comprehension.
