I now can't wait for the "Uber of Dollar Vans" to become a thing.

I thought this was really good, and weirdly/unfortunately shunted to some New Yorker web Negative Zone. It could have been twice as long!

these things in Nj are the worst- drivers constantly talking with a phone in one hand and a wad of cash in the other wile somehow barely holding the wheel. The vans spew enormous amounts of pollution. They slowly weave in and out of traffic without signaling looking for fares. There are so many of them that one passes every 1-3 minutes. Lastly, they operate on the same roads as Nj Transit buses, so the excuse about serving an area that is under served by public transportation is bogus. There was a brief crackdown when one of the chatting drivers killed a child when he ran onto a sidewalk last year, but nothing concrete.
