What about it makes it good for writing? And what kind of writing are we talking about?
I like music that's propulsive but unobtrusive when I write. Traditional "ambient" stuff in the vein of Eno makes me drowsy and unfocused, and more in-your-face dance music can get distracting. This hits a nice sweet spot in the middle.
