This is ode to a word that is so taboo, so capable of shutting down a conversation, that I'm afraid to say it in most company. This is an optimistic discussion of appropriation. This is a video for Hercules & Love Affair's "My Offence" that includes the revelation that, "You can't be a cunt and then be a pussy. Like, it just doesn't work."
Get into it. Or, you know, protest vociferously.
Disputation. You CAN very easily be a cunt and then be a pussy serially. For instance, you are [being a] cunt if in a workplace situation you sell a subordinate or a peer down the river to cover your ass. Then, perhaps you morph into a pussy when that co-worker asks you about it, and you lie because you are cowardly as well as dastardly.
And I suppose you can be a cunt and a pussy at the same time if you are a vagina — along with every other term that specifies just that piece of anatomy: snatch, etc.
I simultaneously suppose you can't, if I consider it differently, even if you were a vagina, because you are being named one or the other of those names mentally or verbally by someone, as a human with language capabilities, will not be able to think or say them both simultaneously.
One of my favorite words, but best using sparingly. When a conversation (or a person) needs to be shut right the fuck down, deploy this and it's done.
... Unless the other person isn't scared to drop the C-bomb either. In which case, it just becomes a shouting match until somebody snaps or walks away.
I've met so many guys who think girls won't say "cunt" who get shocked to hear me use it on them first. Watching that startled-fish look on their faces as their mouths open & close silently a few times— blop blop blop— it is SUCH a joy! If I were a faster draw with a cellphone camera, I'd have a dandy photocollage of fishmouthed-gaping man faces by now. Silly cunts.
I'd argue that someone who reacts that way is a pussy, but we've just been told that one cannot be a cunt and then a pussy. This is quite the dilemma.

Because.... of course you can be a cunt and then a pussy. People do it every day. To wit: Drivers cut me off in the pedestrian crosswalk, being cunts. When I kick their cars, they act like they're going to stop and get out and teach Little Missy a lesson— but then they just drive on with their lips all pressed together, being pussies. QED.
I didn't watch the video either, couldn't be bothered. I like to think I'm well versed in the use of cunt.
Your situation makes sense though. I nearly got annihilated at a crosswalk by some cunt who blew through a red light at like 60; couldn't see her coming because of a bus next to me. Had I started walking a couple seconds sooner, they'd be squegeeing bits of Nedus off of her car and the pavement.
This has nothing to do with being a pussy or a cunt, I just wanted to share that story and call that girl a cunt again.
"Cunt" in Britain is nowhere near as triggery as it is here.
It is much better if one finds this out first, prior to casually dropping a box of cunts on a bunch of Americans and watching them either freak out because anybody saying the word in their presence is license to become one, or they get uncomfortable because they want to use the word but they just cun't.
Using cunt and pussy as insults is no more femiphobic than calling people dicks is androphobic, or calling people asshole is elimiphobic.
As for the cunt/pussy thing, I agree that it isn't right (I don't think the quote meant it was impossible). It is unacceptable to be arrogant enough that you get the C word hurled at you and then turn around and pretend to be the exact opposite and I have just now realized that P and C, as insults, are in fact opposites.

One of the greats in the arsenal! Can be used brutishly, judiciously, artistically, playfully, you name it.
I best like pairing it with incongruously puffy words, such as "dippy". i.e. "Lookit that dippy cunt, texting while driving his little yellow Mini Cooper". Or: pairing it with lofty fifty-cent vocab twists. i.e. "Why, Carla, your discourse certainly has reached eminently cunty levels today". (My friend Carla is my main partner in C-bomb deployment. It's important to have at least one friend to share it freely with.) Or: crafting outlandish nonsense portmanteaus that are in need of one good punchy percussive syllable to finish off the assonance. i.e. "Stupid cuntbungler" or "Smooth move, Thundercunt".
Lots of people say "there are two types of people in this world" for many reasons, but this is one area in which I really have observed a true dichotomy.... There are people who will use the word 'cunt', and those who will not. I've never met anyone who feels halfway about it.
